HI all,

The final of ImagineCup 2008 was 20 of May in CulturGest. It were presented 7 teams with lots of imagination and good projects. The team that I supported was the fantastic team of ISEP the r-Ecycled (http://www.r-ecycled.com). However, my team didn’t win the final, instead, they stayed on second place and win the sapo award. It was very good for us and for next year I’m hoping that more teams of ISEP will be at the final and who knows: WIN it!!!

The r-Ecycled project was a social network that interacts with the citizens and the authorities in order to announce when something bad to the environment was happening. They build a mobile solution to make it easy to take a picture and write a post about the founded issue.

The project that won the final was Smart Containers (http://smartcontainers.utad.pt/ ) from UTAD and it was an awesome project. I know one of the members of the team, André Sousa (AKA Xipopo) a very good friend that deserved the full success. They will represent Portugal at the ImagineCup 2008 final at France. Maybe they win the final… It will be great for Portugal.

Hi all,

The bell rang. And I wasn’t very pleased about open the door to anyone. However, I went to the first floor of my house and take a pick on the window. Ohhh… DHL personal… My book… I ran to the door and picked the box.

Finally the one of the biggest missing peace for my look-a-like thesis has arrived: The Big Switch.

I’ll share in this blog several pieces and thoughts about SaaS\Cloud-Computing and surely lots of them will be referenced to this book.

No âmbito de uma cadeira que frequento este ano, Engenharia de Aplicações, foi desafiado aos alunos um trabalho sobre Reutilização de Código e Design Pattern sem exceder os 15000 caracteres.

Assim, partilho o trabalho que fiz com estas limitações pois não me foi possivel abordar domínios, sistematizações, etc…

Para que o meu tema fosse aprovado no âmbito de Projecto\Estágio (PESTI) foi necessário elaborar o enquadramento do tema SaaS\Cloud-Computing.

Hi all,

I announce it in Twitter that I’m making a theoretical work (look-a-like thesis) about SaaS\Cloud-Computing. Therefore, I’ve decided to use my blog to post my reflections and acquire knowledge about the issue.

However, I can’t promise that all my post or even the most part of them will be written in English because I’ll perform my “thesis” in Portuguese. Off course, for me is quite easier to write in Portuguese than in English because it’s my first language.

Settle down a few points for the SaaS\Cloud-Computing writing:

· Everything that I’ll write it’s not a exact science;

· I’m studying the issue so it’s possible that I can contradict myself a few times;

· There aren’t many documentation about Cloud-Computing, most part of it it’s picked up on technical blogs;

I hope you enjoy my writing but be extra careful. In the end maybe I publish my look-a-like thesis here.

A data e local para a final nacional do ImagineCup2008 está definida.

O ImagineCup2008 será integrado no evento Dia da Inovação que se realiza na Culturgest no próximo dia 20 de Maio.

A agenda ainda não está fechada mas já se sabe que vai ser um dia recheado de palestras e testemunhos reais de inovação em Portugal.

O Dia da Inovação é um evento subordinado ao tema de Inovação e Empreendedorismo na área das novas tecnologias. Tem por principais objectivos estimular o empreendedorismo e a inovação,   envolver, de forma articulada, estudantes empreendedores,  investigadores, empresas e investidores, premiar e divulgar ideias inovadoras e debater ao mais alto nível a  problemática da Inovação e Desenvolvimento da Economia Local.

O Dia da Inovação incorpora a Final Nacional do Concurso Imagine  Cup 2008 - o maior concurso de tecnologias do mundo dedicado a estudantes, um Fórum de Empreendedorismo e uma exposição de Projecto Inovadores.

O evento, será realizado no dia 20 de Maio, na Culturgest com o apoio da Caixa Geral de Depósitos,  da Sociedade Ponto Verde, da Xbox 360, da Tsunami  e da Sapo.pt.

Penso que o ISEP estará representado pelo menos numa das categorias mas ainda tenho que confirmar. Eu de certo que por lá estarei!
